As President of Barlowe and Associates, Liz Barlowe brings more than 25 years of experience in the aging and disability field. She provides direct Aging Life Care™ management services as well as consults with businesses to ensure the standard of Aging Life Care™ management excels. Liz recognized at a young age her connection with older adults and utilizes her talents to ensure their safety and wellbeing. She is a native of Pinellas County, Florida and has spent her career improving the lives of seniors and supporting their families.
Previous to owning her own aging life care company, Liz was Vice President of Operations for a local care management company for 10 years. In addition, she was the founding administrator of a private duty, state licensed homecare company. Her leadership grew both entities to become successful statewide and nationally recognized industry leaders. Prior to this Liz served as Executive Director of an assisted living facility designed for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. She has additional experience in managing traditional assisted living facilities, mental health, and non-profit senior service agencies.
Liz is the 2020 President of the Aging Life Care Association™ (ALCA) Board of Directors (formerly the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers). She received the Fellow designation from ALCA which recognizes those members who have demonstrated themselves to be advanced practitioners and experts in the field of Aging Life Care™ management. She is a past president of the association’s Florida Chapter. Liz received the 2009 Outstanding Florida Chapter Member award. Because of her expertise in the field, she was asked to provide updating for the “Preparing for Emergencies” chapter of the Handbook of Geriatric Care Management, third and fourth editions (Jones & Bartlett Publishers).
As President of Barlowe and Associates, Liz assists Aging Life Care™ management clients to live the fullest life possible by providing guidance, advocacy, and resources. Liz received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Western Carolina University and her Master’s Degree in Gerontology from the University of South Florida. She is certified to provide care management from the National Academy of Certified Care Managers. In addition to her professional roles Liz is a volunteer member of the Season’s Hospice Local Governing Body.
